Elders Mary Lou Smoke opened the Film Festival on Monday February 10, 2025 and Layla Staats, Director, shared stories, invited everyone to become active water protectors, and answered questions about her short documentary Blood and Water: A Reclamation Story.
On Wednesday February 12, 2025, we watched the film Vibrations from Gaza by Rehab Nazzal, followed by a panel moderated by the Canada Palestine Social Association London and Special Guests from Gaza who reflected on the meaning of home, storytelling, and dreams for the future of Gaza and all of Palestine from the river to the sea. Vibrations from Gaza is now available in the King’s University College library for 5 years - so take the time to watch and learn from the amazing children who share their stories in this powerful documentary!!!
On Wednesday February 12, 2025, we also watched It’s Bisan from Gaza and I am Still Alive and It’s Bisan from Gaza and We Will Return to Our Homes, and students led a powerful art activity dreaming the future of Gaza and sending art and video messages to Director Bisan Owda through AJ+.
